Redefining Urban Connectivity through Movement and Cultural Exchange
Location: Chinatown, Chicago, Illinois
Interlace proposes a master plan on 50-acre site located between Chinatown and the Motor Row District in Chicago, Illinois. The master plan proposal explores open space, infrastructure and building forms that engages with ideas of circulation, movement, social space, orientation and programmatic planning at a large scale. The architectural project, a sports complex, utilizes the slopes and elevated platforms that aims to encourage movements and interactions that are conducive to cultural exchange. The goal is to diversify ways to approach the building and infuse activities through building form as well as programmatic placement.
