Travel and documentation is one of the many things that influences an individual’s design thinking. Rather than seeing this project as a photography portfolio, it is a museum to house my experiences while traveling around the world. These visual databases are used as sources of inspiration and reflection through critical inquiry.
Inspired by the wabi-sabi aesthetics, the cover design of the book follows a minimalist and modest approach. The title is stamped on the cover of the book and the text on the belly band is handwritten to underline a sense of craftsmanship and reveal the beauty in imperfection. The white paper cover of the book will wear out over time, showing the concept of transience.
